On December 3, young people representing 10 river basins in the Americas (including the Beni River in Bolivia) participated in the Social Summit for Climate Action in Santiago Chile. These young people called for the United Nations to stop recognizing new dams as clean, renewable, and sustainable energy and to instead, support the reduction of emissions directly.
